The Remix

Donald Baechler, Red & Blue, 2011

As far as art goes, I was schooled in The Renaissance and the Old Masters are like my best friends.  But working with The Standard Hotel brand brings with it a sense of modernity and an aesthetic more conducive to the contemporary as opposed to the classics.

So, in our constant attempt to keep you up to speed with your Stan D’art lessons, I would like to present to you The Remix.

The Remix print portfolio is the follow up to last year’s powerful exhibition In Dialogue curated by Peter Makebish and shown at Anonymous Gallery.  The show paired four generations of artists who Makebish believed to share intrinsic styles and similarities and who fundamentally converged across a barrier of art history unlike that ever curated before.

For his second debut, Makebish is publishing The Remix, a portfolio of prints composed from 6 of the artists he worked with while putting together In Dialogue, including Donald Baechler, Ross Bleckner, Brendan Cass, Sante D’Orazio, John Newsom and Ouattara Watts.

Sante D’Orazio, Two Heads Kissing, 2011

This new collection is printed to utter perfection by former Warhol printer, Alexander Heinrici, and is presented in a gorgeously bound portfolio which houses them collectively.  All prints are signed by their respective artists and come in a limited edition of 60 only.

Ross Bleckner, Untitled, 2011

Portfolio prices are available upon request.  For more information, email Peter Makebish.
