Last night in New York was the wild party for the premiere of Blank City. All the old-school New Yorkers were out in full effect for the celebration of the first release from Fisher Stevens & Andrew Karsch’s Insurgent Releasing.

In essence, Blank City is about 70’ New York. Experimental film. Badass people. 

The documentary comes from the mind of french newcomer Celine Danhier. Interviewees include Jim Jarmusch, Debbie Harry, Steve Buscemi, John Lurie, Fab 5 Freddy, Thurston Moore, Richard Kern, Lydia Lunch, Amos Poe, Eric Mitchell, James Nares, Maripol and John Waters among many more.

The bash was at Madame Wongs on Howard Street in Soho with DJ’s JG Thirlwell (Foetus), Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs),and Dan Selzer (Acute Records). Packed room. Long night.
