Hark! Where have all the music business friends in New York gone? They are in Austin at South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival. Come to think of it, all the marketing, and some film friends are gone too. Essentially, SXSW is an enormous film, music, and interactive festival which most industry folk run to in order to check out new bands, meet their label mates, throw cool parties, schmooze with digital industry, and screen some great films. Just to add to the “enticing package”, it happens every Spring, which make us itchy New Yorker’s excited to leave war torn winter.

Apart is an independent Romantic/Psychological thriller making its premiere on Thursday at the Paramount Theatre in Austin. Their blog features production updates, behind-the-scenes info, songs from the soundtrack and news about screenings. We love filmmakers on Tumblr

An incredibly comprehensive guide to everything music at SXSW from a local, with band reviews and party fliers for the music portion of the festival

The SXSW Tumblr Tracker
The Guardian sent roving reporters to SXSW armed only with some mobile devices and some Tumblr blogs, and their custom-built tracker pulls all their coverage together.
