The Standard

First of all, I would like to thank the Academy for giving me this blog with which to touch daily all of your souls out there.  I also have to thank Papa and Mama D’arde, (and that third martini mama had on her wedding night), because without them, I would not be here today.  Lastly, I want to thank all of my Fan D’ardes scattered across the globe.  If it wasn’t for the three of you standing beside me through this incredible journey, I probably would not have made it this far.

Yes, my Stan D’elovelies, it’s that time of year again.  The Oscars are upon are us.  A time when nothing else matters but high fashion, backstabbing, jealousy, hatred and unadulterated ambition for a little gold statuette.  Sounds like a normal day for me, but I digress….

So who will take home the prize?  My bets are on Alicia Silverstone in Clueless for Best Actress and Isaac Mizrahi’s Unzipped for Best Picture!  Okay, maybe they’re not nominated, but if I ran The Academy, they would be!

Will all the hype around Colin Firth for The King’s Speech really come through for him?  Or will Javier Bardem sweep through for the win with his role in Biutiful?  Will Black Swan do pirouettes around The Kids Are Alright or will The Social Network claim victory over Toy Story 3?  (BTW…who the hell knew that a Toy Story 3 came out and how the hell did it get an Oscar nomination?!?!)  Full list of nominees here.

So this Sunday night at 8pm, make sure you’re holed up in a suite at The Standard, Hollywood or The Standard, Downtown LA with a chilled bottle of Moet and keep your eyes peeled cuz I’ll be on the red carpet making funny faces behind Ryan Seacrest.  

And if you’re in Miami, shave your head bald, paint yourself gold and head over to The Lido Lounge at The Standard, Miami where they will be hosting Oscar Bingo from 7pm.
