Le Book Goes West

(Shepard Fairey ushers in Le Book’s Connections in Hollywood)

Last week Le Book celebrated its first West Coast Connections event in LA at The Standard, Hollywood. Le Book’s annual event — shall we say, mixers? — have been a fixture for designers, illustrators, creative directors, photographers, etc in New York City for several years. The name for the event is Connections, and it’s been held in New York, Paris, London and Hamburg. The annual event hosted by Le Book started in 2005 and is the veritable fashion, art and advertising industry networking event drawing creatives from companies like Nike and Banana Republic.

The west coast virgin party was held poolside at The Standard. The music was an educated and awesome set by artist Shepard Fairey, who has luckily made-up and kissed with The Associated Press on his iconic Obama photo lawsuit. Whew. Everyone was happy, celebrating, and putting drinks down. Onwards and upwards for 2011.

The event also had a preview of Keith Haring’s artwork which was projected on large screens. The collection will be part of Jeffrey Dietch’s upcoming Art in the Streets show at MOCA. Stay tuned for more updates on the big show.
