This is the kind of story we LOVE to hear about because nothing is better than finding a lost bottle of delicious champagne! It’s like putting on your favorite made-to-measure Gucci flat front tweed pants and finding a $100 bill in the pocket. Love when that happens!
According to the Associated Press, and sent to us by our friends over at GrapeFriend, divers off the coast of Finland found a two centuries old shipwreck containing bottles of Champagne. Veuve Clicquot confirmed on Wednesday, by examining branding of the corks, that at least three of the bottles found belonged to them. Had they just asked ME to drink the bottles, I could have told them the same exact thing, but I digress…
The find could mean that this is the oldest drinkable Champagne in the world at the moment, but not for long, because Stan is hightailing it over to Finland as we speak. Pop open the bubbly, People!!! Je suis en route!
