There are moments in time when you come across a person that transcends all planes of style, class, etiquette and grace. A star that shines brightly from both the inside and the outside. An icon who forever will be remembered as nothing short of stellar.
No, my Stan D’arlings, I’m not speaking of the day you all met ME. I am referring to one of the greatest muses to have ever walked the face of this earth, Isabella Blow.
For those of you who don’t know Isabella, she was one of the fashion world’s most important and instantly recognizable figures, in addition to being a beacon of remarkable inspiration. She launched the careers of countless supermodels including Sophie Dahl, and most famously, the recently departed fashion designer Alexander McQueen. Sadly, almost 3 years ago, she also took her own life which sent shock waves throughout the industry.
Today, her surviving husband, Detmar Blow, with my old friend, Tom Sykes, has written a book entitled Blow by Blow which chronicles the legacy of this astonishing woman who spent her life trying to escape her legacy of depression while focusing on the cultivation of creativity.
Blow by Blow goes on sale in the United States this Tuesday, November 9 on Amazon and local bookstores near you.
We still miss you, Issie!
xoxo
