If you happen to be a food lover, and live in New York, this weekend will feel like you’ve died and gone to heaven. From October 7 to 10 The Standard, New York is once again the headquarters for a legion of top chefs and foodies to gather together to talk food and share their scrumptious gifts at the Food & Wine Festival. Here’s the breakdown:

(Chef Dan Silverman at The Standard Grill)
Tonight our very own Dan Silverman will host the RED Dinner with his culinary buddies and fellow neighborhood chefs Marc Meyer of Cookshop and Jonathan Waxman from Barbuto. It’s no surprise that this ticketed dinner sold out within a couple of hours - with an all star team working the kitchen and menu filled with tongue and oxtail taquito, seared diver scallops, meatballs and lobster caponata and steak provided by the Allen Brothers. Every dish will be paired with exceptional ruby-pigmented wine making this one feast to remember.
On Friday night, there’s a special event called Feast Talks which is a series of live conversations with Ben Leventhal and a few chefs (Eric Ripert and Joe Bastianich). It’s an invite-only affair (sorry readers, but you can view this event online).
The good news is that Saturday night Feast Talks are open to the public. The schedule of cooks and times is written below. Not to be missed. The Feast Talks take place inside the Living Room Plaza at The Standard New York.

The fun doesn’t end there. It seems there’s lots going on this Saturday all over our building. From 12:00 - 1:30pm inside our Biergarten + Garden Rooms, brace yourself for an event entitled The Lobster Place presents The Oyster Bash.
Here’s how it works. In short, it’s an oyster battle royale. Eight of New York’s most renowned seafood chefs will serve alongside artisanal oyster farmers allowing a side-by-side comparison between a prepared oyster and one in the raw. Chat with the farmers and the chefs about their craft and their commitment to this delicacy from the sea. Add french fries and cocktails and you got yourself a hell of an afternoon.
