It’s time again for another precious evening of fine acoustic sets presented at The Standard, Hollywood. This Wednesday, September 8th, we’ve lined up a fresh new selection of music to wrap your hearts and minds around.

Here’s a brief stroll through our Wednesday acts…
Bryce Wayt
Imagine the vibe of Tom Petty, Elvis Costello and Gram Parson wrapped up into one musician with some new modern flavor. Bryce has been fermenting as an artist near the sacred Joshua Tree at a cool spot called Pappy & Harriet’s. He’s been jamming with contemporaries Band of Horses, Jayhawk’s Mark Olson, Victoria Williams, and Tim Easton. Today, his creative outlets include The War Children and The GT 350’s but we’re happy to boast we got Bryce for one night to cook up some tunes in an intimate setting.
Sean Wheeler and Zander Schloss
Sean and Zander are a hodgepodge of influences sprouting from the underbelly of the Desert Hot Springs. Things that inspire them? Jesus, Ghandi, Plato, Hank Williams, Annie Sprinkle, Chrissie Hynde, Jezebel, Mata Hari, William S. Boroughs, your mamma, your sister, Ringo, Jeff Tweedy, Hillary Clinton, and oh, that’s right…. Big Bird. Have we got your attention yet? Good. Come see them play their special flavor of Americana folk and desert punk.
“Boots Electric” and Money Mark
As if the night wasn’t already action-packed… we have the one and only Money Mark. If you don’t recognize his name, then rest assured you’ve heard his spirit echoing through the Beastie Boys’ albums through his keyboard alchemy. His sound is a mix of lo-fi jazz, funk, hip hop, folk, afro-Cuban, etc. etc. Mark creatively explores hard and good, and it’s always a treat to witness one of his performances. For our Wednesday acoustic set, Mark performs with Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse “Boots Electric” Hugh.
Get there early to pick a good corner for yourself at this Desert Night full of raw music throwdown. We’ll see you there.
