This Friday, Le Bain presents The Clash of the Disco — London with an Italian twist versus New York with a San Francisco touch.

On the European side, please meet Severino Panzetta. Severino is one of the residents of world famous Horse Meat Disco parties. A Londoner with an Italian heart, Severino started mixing in clubs in Northern Italy at age 16, before moving to London at 26. His favorite DJ’s are Daniel Baldelli, the godfather of Italo, and the fantastic DJ Harvey. As Severino puts it “I grew up listening to what they call in Italy ‘Afro Music’ which was African stuff, Disco, Funk and Electronica all mixed together. Today my numero uno is DJ Harvey. He is an Englishman who doesn’t give a shit. He love his music and life.”

On the other side, here is the House of Stank, aka W. Jeremy and Christy Love. Their influences come from New York to Chicago, “Tony Humphries, Masters at Work, Todd Terry, Danny Tenaglia, Cajmere and Derrick Carter”. A strong house background, mixed with some San Francisco good vibes. “Parties like Sunset, Wicked, Lift, The End Up, Sunday T-Dances to name a few, SF is definitely about the energy you get from the people when you’re playing a party.” They define their style as “Funkadelic on acid… Oh wait!”

Our both Disco Knights share a culture of mixing people and good dance vibes. Severino: “The best thing about Horse Meat Disco is mixing gay and straight open-minded friends”. House of Stank: “Our first parties in New York were a place for folks to come and dance like no one was watching.”
They also both share a love for each other hometown. Severino says “New York is about energy! Proper 24 hour city madness. The world is here!” House of Stank: “London is about amazing house music, party people, and spending double on something that you can get here in NYC!”
And the winner is? The real D.I.S.C.O. Gay or Straight. The one which makes you dance like no one is watching.
