We Gots Lots of 4th of July Plans

Jul 12 2011

Get ready folks! We are entering another weekend of visual wonder with 4th of July weekend festivities. What better way for a group bond then getting together and looking up into the sky with a lot of communal “ooohs” and “aaaaahs”.

The Standard has a few shindigs going on at our various hotels in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. Our locations are perfect with “money shot” views to behold all the magic.

Here’s a little rundown…

The Standard, New York

Once again, Le Bain will be hosting its memorable 4th of July party, one of the most coveted rooftops to enjoy the fireworks. The party starts at 3pm and runs through 2am with a load of dancing, cocktails, and fireworks simultaneously sparkling the sky.  Also, don’t forget your swimsuit - you might just want to dip in our hot tub during your firework viewing. Oh, and if you do forget, you know to get your pair in our poolside vending machines.

Another little note to all our friends — be mindful that we have one 1 stunning roof and New York City is very big, so we recommend coming early, getting your drink on, and picking a sexy corner early to watch the fireworks.

The Standard, Miami

On Sunday, there’s Lazy Sunday BBQ with $6 Picanha, Caipirinha, Beer and Drinks. The festivities begin from 2pm - 8pm.

There will also be Hoopla with some nice drumming for those that want to get in the mood. What is hooping?  Well, its become a bit of a happening thrill in terms of the new fitness craze. Believe it or not, our awesome hoola hooping sessions in our lovely garden are great for weight loss and core toning. We at The Standard believe you can have fun and get in shape too. Ok. So we hope you get our drift at The Standard Miami — get fit, dance, learn, laugh, and smile. Entrance is $10 and the party runs from 6pm to 8pm.

On Sunday, There’s also Live, Love, Dance. It’s a 60s Beach Dance with Loren Livick and Kris Bahamondes. Grab your teeny-weeny yellow polka dot bikini! Don’t be shy and give us your best dance moves in any genre — whether you shake, rattle, roll or twist! Don’t forget, there’s also the Watusi, the Mash Potato, and the Swim all over the dance floor! To get in the mood, tease yourself with the true Shake Rattle and Roll with Elvis, or the Mash Potato with Dee Dee Sharp. See the The Twist by Chubby Checker. Watch Wednesday Adams of the Adams Family do a little Watusi. Ok. Get it? Good. Get your 60’s dance moves out and get over here in Miami.  Entrance is $18 and the event runs from 6:30pm to 8pm.

On Sunday, is also the Holistic Healing Circle . Join Juliano Echevarria, Rev Lorranie Meyer, Alan, and Sunte for an evening of divine healing. Experience Open Heart Meditation and Prayers, Eye-Gazing, Crystal Sonic Healing, Akashic Record Reading and Reiki. Entrance is $10 to $30 and includes indoor baths from 7pm - 9pm

On Monday is the final BBQ with sweet BBQ specials all day long and spectacular views of the fireworks from 2pm to 11pm, featuring Standard Summer Sangria.

The Standard, Hollywood

The Standard, Hollywood isn’t content to let the 4th of July be one day and has decided to spread the love all weekend long.   We’ll be firing up the ole BBQ Pool Side Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from noon - 4pm.

On Saturday: In additional to the delicious BBQ we’ve decided the weekend could use a little live music.  The lovely and talented Amy Blaschke will be rocking the pool deck at 4pm and music genius Jeffrey Davies (from the band Brian Jonestown Massacre) will be kickin’ it at 6pm.

On Sunday:  Brazilian Bingo will be starting the party at 6pm and, just to get the evening going right, we’ll be offering hosted Leblon Caipirinhas for the first hour!

On Monday: We have a 4th of July soiree planned complete with “Swimming, Sun, & Uncle Sam”. There will be DJ’s, board games, a ping-pong tournament, and complimentary sunshine. Also, in your hazy memory with sun, drinks, and laughs, don’t be surprised if you see a the legend himself Uncle Sam circling the pool and upping the fun factor.
