Fair and Honest Appraisals from The Bumbys

Aug 25 2011

Ain’t no party like a Standard pool party, especially when The Bumbys are in the house! The Brooklyn based duo took time out of their jetsetting lives to attend last Saturday’s FoundTrack and WNDRWRKS pool party at The Standard, Hollywood, and the bathing Hollywood beauties couldn’t get enough.

(The Bumbys, being very fair and thoroughly honest)

For those of you who don’t read the New York Times, The Bumbys are anonymous performance artists Gill & Jill Bumby. They provide “Fair and Honest Appraisals of Your Appearance” with nothing more than their typewriters and charming wit.  The concept is simple and completely irresistible.

Never one to shy away from the spotlight, our very own dashing and debonair Stan D’Arde took his turn under the Bumby’s gaze.  Here’s Jill Bumby’s fair and honest appraisal of him:

You have a sort of Jack Kerouac meets a young Jacques Cousteau motif. There’s something of the washed up bon vivant that takes great pleasure in forgotten affairs, bathtubs and Bach concertos, and being a bit of a wonderful bastard who’s best over cheeseburgers and whisky, rather than fine dining with the relatives. I’d like to steal a yacht with you, and idle the hours doing boozy charades while giving each other secret hickies. Overall Rating: 9.6” - xo, Jill Bumby

Seriously, have you ever read a more accurate description in your life?
