While we race around in preparation to be the official hotel of Art Platform and Pulse in LA’s first big art fair at the end of the month, invites for openings for two of our favorite artists hit our inbox - both happening at the end of the week and both not to be missed.

First, on Thursday our friends at HVW8 present a show of new original works from Parra. In a departure from his recent silkscreen prints, all work in this show comes in the form of drawings and paintings. RSVP to attend to parra_original_show@hvw8.com.

Saturday at Known Gallery New Mathematics opens, comprising 50 new works - drawings and paintings - from prolific street artist and designer Haze. No RSVP necessary for this one but arrive on the early side, coming off his inclusion in MOCA’s epic Art in the Streets, we can pretty much guarantee it will be packed.
