Last month, our site reviewed an extraordinary online hub called Paddle8 which is forward thinking destination residing on the web aimed at exposing art through unconventional means. We interviewed Vince Aletti who curated a riveting body of work entitled STUFF: Still Life Photography Curated by Vince Aletti.

Today, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of Paddle8’s new exhibit entitled Taking Sides. This particular body of work is curated by Robin Williams with his gallerist son Zak Williams. It is a Web-only exhibition for Paddle8 addressing the roles of war, violence, authority and politics in contemporary art and includes perspectives from artists around the globe, including Iraq, Iran, Israel, China, Pakistan, Indonesia, India, Great Britain, the U.S., Canada and others.

Among the artists included are the Raqs Media Collective, Jenny Holzer, Feng Mengbo, Trevor Paglen, and Marcel Dzama. Robin Williams (whom we lovingly posted as our “graphic of the day” recently) has also chosen fellow comedian Eric Idle to provide online commentary for the show, among other “art-world influencers.”
