Mazzy Star is Back

Oct 24 2011

Remember the 90’s? We do too… and Mazzy Star was on constant rotation with her hypnotic voice and subtle tambourine. “Fade into You” has aged pretty well, and feels like an inspration to newbie bands like Beachhouse. Their first album She Hangs Brightly was released in 1990, then they released another two albums, So Tonight That I Might See (1993) and Among My Swan (1996). Both members took a break to spend time working on separate projects. We’re happy to say they’re back!

Mazzy Star returns today, October 31, with new 2 singles, “Common Burn” and “Lay Myself Down”. The Californian duo, Hope Sandoval and David Roback, will perform a string of live shows in early 2012. A limited-edition 7” vinyl will be available soon, via Mazzy Star’s own Rhymes of an Hour label. The single was recorded in California, London, and Norway. Expect a full album of brand new material to follow.
