This Saturday November 12, the Night People welcome one of the city most celebrated electro-punk band, the fabulous Ninjasonik. Jah Jah and Telli will perform live at midnight and we took a chance to meet one of the Ninjas himself, Telli Gramz. Enjoy the Standard Q&A with No Swords or Masks.

The Standard: Ninjasonik’s last mixtape is called No Swords or Masks. Does that mean your Ninja skills are only sonic?

Telli Gramz: Duh! The last mixtape was to confirm that were are musically inclined, we are fun but not a joke!

Ninjasonik might be the perfect incarnation of rap, punk and dance mixed together… which is everything a fun night should be about. What is your own definition of a good night?

Good times! A priceless memory!

What is your motto on stage?

Ninja fuckn Sonik we are Sonik Fuckn Ninja!

And in life?

Inspire! And treat every day like it’s your last!

Ninjas and Sonic are a good start to make young boys happy. What were your heroes as a kid?

You said “People often feel they need to work a 9-5, and they lose their imagination. Ninjasonik stands for being grown kids.” The Peter Pan Syndrome is actually the name of your new album. Are you sure being a kid was so fun?

Hell no, too many rules! That’s what The Peter Pan syndrome is all about, now I can do whatever I want with no rules! Taking care of business but still holding on to the things that make you who you are.

Could you describe us one of your perfect child moment?

Coming home from school and playing Nintendo and watching video music box.

Will The Peter Pan Syndrome be ironically the moment you are becoming adults, at least as a band? Reaching the new step of world domination?

We been threw a lot! Enjoying the ride ! With The Peter Pan Syndrome we have finally found how to translate our way of living in our music!

Who do you think is the greatest Punk outside of the Punk scene?

Me.

And the greatest rapper outside of the Rap scene?

Jah Jah.

And the greatest dancer?

Chris Brown.

What is your favorite movie about New York?

The ‘miss’ Education of Sunny Carson

If you had the super power to change something in your great city, what would it be?

Lower the prices on everything and make cabs stop for me whenever wherever! Other than that I love this place.
