Can I get a “Whoot Whoot”? Yep, that’s right! It’s nearly Wednesday and you know what that means? Hells yeah, Wednesday means Desert Nights at The Standard, Hollywood! This week’s line-up is gonna be off the chain, check ‘em out:

Holly Conlan, looking as good as she sounds!
Los Angeles native Holly Conlan has carved out a distinct niche in Hollywood’s expansive music community. Her musical journey from a child pawing her father’s grand piano, to classical composition student, to surefooted indie-pop artist has led to the sort of burgeoning career that few independent artists enjoy.

Duniven, keepin’ it cool.
“Duniven provides a refreshing sound that seperates them from the black hole of good music thats heard but easily forgotten. With organs, harmonica and rusty raw vocals, they add variance from the same old same old indie rock scene in LA. Destined to leave a mark on your eardrums.” — Mary Broadbent, The Deli Magazine

Harley Cortez, ready to entertain.
Former frontman of LA-based indie darling Red Cortez, Harley Cortez has moved on with his new project Just An Animal… Their “Lonely Hunter” LP , prouced by Richard Swift (Gardens & Villa) will be out November 2011. Harley will be sharing some of the new material in the Cactus Lounge.
What is Desert Nights?
Desert Nights is a weekly gathering at The Standard, Hollywood. Every Wednesday, we curate three acoustic musical acts to perform a set in the Cactus Lounge. The vibe is warm and intimate, evoking an impromptu jam in a musician’s living room. The music begins at 7:30pm.
