Nov 18 2011

Why isn’t Thanksgiving Eve a big holiday? It’s got all the makings of a Christmas Eve– there’s a day long food preparation, last minute decorating, and a sense of anticipation. Somehow, Thanksgiving Eve just doesn’t evoke the same sense of celebration, but we vow to change that… starting now. CB Brand Tipping his bottle to you from Eastern Los Angeles, Chad Brown and his outfit, CB Brand, have been described as the “Loch Ness Monster of Country Outfits”, appearing through the foam in grainy photos and sound recordings while reeling apologues bandied about in the bars and living rooms of regional hamlets. He’s dusted floors and stages up and down the Golden State, releasing the maidenhead “Cloud EP” on Wonder Valley Records in 2006, and most recently a Spring 2011 cassette only eponymous release on NYC’s Whip Records. He’s also been releasing his “trusty yet hairpin” country radio program, The Light Brigade Country Cavalcade, since 2002 and the demise of the Echo Park KCBL pirate radio station. Find him on the freeways or in the lounge…

Wade Ryff RACES (formerly known as Black Jesus) formed in the fall of 2009 after singer/songwriter Wade Ryff escaped the sweaty grips of multiple bands, the San Fernando Valley and a real life witch. Originally formed as an impromptu group assembled for a one time performance, this haphazard ensemble of 6 musicians decided to continue playing together and see what opportunities came their way. RACES have recently signed to Frenchkiss Records, who will be releasing their self-recorded and produced debut album this fall.
