The Next Generation at The New Museum

Nov 22 2011 / stan d'arde

Our friends (and new Standard, East Village neighbors) over at The New Museum really know how to throw a party, and last Friday they did just that. Lisa Phillips, the museum’s Director, along with some of her chicest friends including Fabiola Beracasa, Poppy de Villeneuve, Kalup Linzy and Vogue’s Meredith Melling Burke, invited all of their chic friends to celebrate the museum’s upcoming February Triennial exhibition.

The Generational Triennial is a signature initiative of the New Museum. It is the only recurring international exhibition in New York City devoted to emerging artists from around the world, providing an important platform for a new generation of artists who are shaping the current discourse of contemporary art and the future of culture. That’s a mouthful! Keep it clean people.

Everyone who had the pleasure of attending the fête including MOI were treated to a special preview performance by Triennial artist Wu Tsang in collaboration with LA-based DJ Total Freedom. Funny. Total freedom for me is a fourth martini! We have a lot more to come with the New Museum. We’re the official hotel partner for the Triennial, so we’ll be spoon feeding you all you need to know over the coming months.
