Nestled in Downtown LA’s industrial arts district in an abandoned-in-the-70’s Chinese restaurant, lies Pizzanista!, a tasty by-the-slice (or pie!) shop serving classic NY-style thin crust topped with California’s freshest ingredients. This cozy spot, restored to its original glory by its founders – arts dealer Price Latimer Agah and her pro skateboarder husband Salman Agah – truly feels like a neighborhood hangout. No surprise, since the two live nearby, that in the short time we were there for lunch, more than a handful of folks stopped by to say hello and grab a bite. And why not? The pizza is tasty, the vibe is warm and welcoming and LA Weekly does not lie – the garlic knots would win in any match up. It is veggie and vegan friendly too!
Check it out for yourself. Pizzanista serves lunch and dinner from Tuesday through Friday (just $2 a slice on Tuesdays). Saturday and Sunday is just dinner. Take a look at the entire menu and more here.
