After a bit of musing on “leaving New York” for Berlin – pretty much a rite of passage for any artist these days – Johnny Pierce lays one down with some acoustic backup. Even though the unmitigated insouciance of “Summertime” has darkened a bit, there is still something quite joyful about their latest album. Hope those Berlin winters don’t get them too down.
