Desert Nights at The Standard, Hollywood is what Southern California is all about, the nights are warm, the company is warmer, and the music is fantastic.

Rachel Goodrich: We’re pleased as plumbs to have Rachel Goodrich back this month for the second installment of her three month residency. For those who don’t know her, check out this interview where she discusses the secrets of her awesomeness (and throws in some pointers for the beginner kazoo player). Rachel Goodrich is an indie pop singer/songwriter from Miami Beach. She has released two albums, “Tinker Toys” (2008) and “Rachel Goodrich” (2011). She has been writing songs since age 12 and plays the guitar, ukelele, piano, banjo, kazoo and autoharp, among other instruments. Creating this unique and exciting style, Rachel draws on some of her influences which include Joni Mitchell, The Grateful Dead, Tiny Tim, Dr. Seuss, The Lovin’ Spoonful, Bob Dylan & The Band, and so many more. With an eclectic live show featuring a growing collection of band members and toys, Rachel has carved out her own genre she calls “shake-a-billy.” Her music has also been described as an “eclectic blend of vaudeville-inspired indie pop, swing and country.”
Sotto: “Sotto was born on a hot night in Atwater Village brought together by an earthquake and a barking dog. Like any good pediatrician recommends, Sotto focuses on simplicity and natural sound from the perspective of three songwriters and one percussion doctor melding into a furiously quiet unit”
Billy McIntyre: Billy McIntyre is a songwriter based out of Los Angeles. Having lived out of a suitcase for most of his life, traveling around the world from London to Brooklyn, Billy has ended up coming full circle back to the city where he was born. The Maybe Somedays, Billy’s latest project, is trying desperately to make sense of it all. Songs about hope, struggle, big dreams, youth, and love lost and found again tell the story of what it’s like to be another big dreamer in another big city. Blending Blues with the melancholy, optimistic soundscapes of modern Indie rock seems to be the very essence of The Maybe Somedays. Every song tells a story while trying to draw the line between nostalgia for the days of old; and living fast, here and now, in a modern world. The debut studio EP Somewhere Else is in the works and set to be released this Spring.
