Punch. Drunk. Love.

Nothing makes me happier than a stiff drink, and nothing makes me happiest than five stiff drinks back to back! That’s why the other day, if you heard howls of laughter coming from The Standard, New York, you would have known I was tasting our new Living Room cocktails. The Living Room is the lobby bar at the hotel…just steps away from the ice skating rink.

In anticipation of Spring, we’ve whipped up a few new drinks for you. Let the drunk texting begin…

The Oak Ledge - A crisp and fresh blend of rye, Prosecco, lemon juice and simple syrup topped with an orange wedge will definitely keep you from jumping off an oak ledge. Or maybe it won’t? Come and try and let me know what happens.

Winter Sun - Made with vodka, Prosecco, blackberry cordial, lemon juice, and blood orange garnish, the light pink punch alludes to a summertime lemonade without the syrupy sweetness. It’s kind of like a drop of winter sun in your glass.

The Santo Domingo - Not named after my Colombian friends, this mix of dark rum, lime juice, raspberry-basil syrup, black pepper oil and lightly muddled celery sticks will remind you of a bloody mary but you’ll be glad that it isn’t. Because it’s better. The bite of the black pepper appears on the last note and carries through to the next sip. I love a smart cocktail.

The Silver Lining - Every cloud has one, so we figured you should too! This one is light and fruity with Sancerre, Aperol, blood orange juice and seltzer. Reminds me of the wine spritzer of my elementary school days.

The Love Child - Born out of wedlock and poured straight down my throat, this love child of a Penny Drop and a Dark ‘n Stormy brings the best of both their worlds. Dark rum, velvet Falernum, lime juice, star anise cordial, ginger beer and lime wheel garnish.

Shoot me an email when you’re done trying all these drinks out. I’ll have someone call you a cab.

xoxo
