Ryan McGinley’s music video for the Icelandic ambient rock outfit, Sigur Rós, has been making the rounds on the art blogs this week, and for good reason. It’s hypnotizing, insouciant, beautiful. There’s just something about that bird’s eye view, looking down on all that pavement and all those anonymous bustling pedestrians. It seems to communicate that even as we – said bustling pedestrians – plod along the sidewalks, in our happiness minds, we wish to be skipping merrily down the middle of the road.
