LOST PARROT FOUND
A rare “parrotlet” named Ephraim is back safe at home on East 11th Street after a week in the concrete jungle. “He was so pretty and I thought maybe someone would step on him,” said neighborhood hero Julia Svindle, who scooped up the yellow-and-blue-speckled bird on East 14th Street. Ephraim’s frantic owner had blanketed the neighborhood with posters, one of which Svingle spied after taking the bird to a vet. [DNA Info]
