Saint Laurent x Daft Punk

While the fashion set in Paris are still discuter -ing over Dior’s Raf Simons and Saint Laurent’s Slimane, we’re prepared to declare a winner in the music department.

Slimane knows his way around a runway soundtrack almost as well as he does a slim cut trouser. He asked France’s de-facto Sun Kings, Daft Punk, to remix American Blues legend Junior Kimbrough’s “I Gotta Try You Girl”.

FORMIDABLE.

Oh and if you missed this classic bit of fashion drama, you must read Cathy’s New York Times review of Slimane’s début, to which she was most unceremoniously not invited. “And that was the problem,” Cathy writes, “the collection was a nice but frozen vision of a bohemian chick at the Chateau Marmont.” Now, now, Ms. Horyn, no reason to bring the Chateau into all this.
