NEW YORK

Rand Hardy The Forward Look, 2013

55 Gansevoort is unconventional in the way it operates; the gallery doors don't actually open, the art is on display 24/7, and the shows–featuring artists from Leo Fitzpatrick to Todd Eberle– change monthly. Rand Hardy, whose work goes on display this Thursday, has been making sculptures since the late 60's. His work was exhibited at MoMA's seminal "Information Show," and was included in the 1973 Whitney Annual. Currently, Hardy has a sculpture in the group show, “The Paradox of Sculpture” at the National Academy Museum and School.

LOS ANGELES

Terry Riley's "In C" was a pivotal moment for minimalist music when the semi-aleatoric track was released in 1964. Over the decades many artists and/or marijuana enthusiasts have reinterpreted and re-recorded the track. On April 12th, The Industry, an experimental opera company, will participate in a four-hour choreographed dance alongside undulating inflatable figures.
